Laughingbird, the author of this article, captures in words what many an apprentice felt upon meeting Alan Chadwick and experiencing his gardens. Most of us did not have the words nor the literary ability to articulate these experiences, and so assumed that they were ineffable. Perhaps they were, but this article comes closest to the mark.
